François and Justine Petit-Boxler: La Rogerie, a bridge between Champagne and Alsace

François and Justine Petit-Boxler, he originally from Champagne and she from Alsace, decided in 2015 to revive some vineyard parcels inherited from their respective families.

This is how La Rogerie was born, their shared project: to cultivate the old family vineyards and live off the fruits of the land, uniting their roots without having to choose between one or the other.

In Champagne, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, the domaine extends over 2.30 hectares farmed organically in the prestigious territories of Avize, Cramant, and Oger. Each parcel is vinified separately, naturally, respecting the terroir’s identity and without adding any additives. All the cuvées produced are Grand Cru, the result of meticulous work and long aging, both in barrel and in bottle.

The first releases signed La Rogerie were three wines that perfectly represent the deep connection with the village of Avize and its most emblematic terroirs: Champ-Bouton, Chemin de Chalons, and BOURG / SUD. The latter cuvée, built from a perpetual reserve, highlights the terroirs located south of the village of Avize, reaching the gates of Oger, offering a complete and vertical reading of the territory.

To complete the picture will also be Le Bourg / Nord, which emphasizes the terroirs north of Avize up to the border with Cramant, and Haut Du Moulin, another emblematic parcel of the domaine’s viticultural heritage, located in an elevated position and particularly suited to finesse.

But La Rogerie’s story doesn’t stop at Champagne. In Alsace, the family owns another small domaine in Niedermorschwihr, a village historically linked to the Boxler family. Here are born wines of great precision and character, made from Riesling and Pinot Noir grapes grown on granite and limestone soils. In Alsace too, the philosophy is the same: respect for nature, clean and essential vinifications, and absolute attention to the identity of the place.

La Rogerie is therefore much more than a domaine: it is the meeting of two family histories, two winemaking cultures, two unique territories that, although different, find deep harmony through the sensitivity and work of François and Justine.
