Although the domaine has roots dating back to 1860, the story of Antoine Jobard is much more recent. The estate was originally known as Domaine Françoise Jobard, later becoming Françoise & Antoine Jobard in 2002, when Antoine began working alongside his father both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The generational transition was completed in 2007, when Françoise retired and handed full responsibility to his son. From that point, the estate became known as Domaine Antoine Jobard.
Today, Antoine cultivates the family’s 6 hectares with a clear goal in mind: to seek the purest possible expression of Meursault. Annual production is around thirty thousand bottles. In the vineyard, work follows traditional Burgundian methods, using only copper and sulfur, with no synthetic chemical products.
In the cellar, Antoine is known for long aging on lees. His wines typically remain on the fine lees for around twenty months, undergoing spontaneous and natural fermentations. Practices such as fining, bâtonnage or racking are kept to a minimum. His approach is rooted in patience, allowing the wine the time it needs to reveal its full complexity.
The wines of Domaine Antoine Jobard have long stood out for their exceptional aging potential. In particular, the cuvées from Meursault’s most iconic appellations, such as Les Genevrières and Les Charmes, represent a perfect balance of power, precision and longevity.
