Ostia Tempore is a winery located in the renowned Willamette Valley region of Oregon. Founded in 2008 by Bertrand de Villaine, the company was created with the goal of producing wines that best express the soul of the local terroir, with particular attention to Pinot Noir and, more recently, Chardonnay.
The choice of Oregon is no coincidence. The Willamette Valley, and in particular the Eola-Amity Hills appellation, offers ideal conditions for high-quality viticulture. Volcanic soils, a cool and temperate climate, combined with the constant influence of ocean breezes, allow for slow ripening of the grapes, maintaining freshness and acidity. It is in this privileged context that Ostia Tempore cultivates its vineyards, with low yields and great attention to soil health.
The name “Ostia Tempore” stems from a profound idea: to unite the concept of time with the evocative power of place. The winery works according to principles of organic and sustainable agriculture, minimizing environmental impact and enhancing biodiversity. In the cellar, respectful and minimally invasive practices are preferred to preserve the identity of the grapes and the territory from which they come.
Bertrand de Villaine, with extensive experience in the wine world, wanted to build an innovative project grounded in an artisanal vision. Far from standardized production models, he aimed for a refined and essential style, seeking the utmost expressive purity in his wines.
Today, Ostia Tempore represents a virtuous example in Oregon’s wine scene. Its wines, elegant and territorial, reflect the authentic character of Eola-Amity Hills and are the result of a skillful balance between nature, time, and human vision. A young winery, yet already capable of leaving a deep mark.
