In July 2023, the Lyon-based Solexia group acquired Domaine des Terres de Velle in Auxey-Duresses (Côte de Beaune, Burgundy), which was renamed Domaine Pierre Vincent. This project is the result of a shared passion for wine and Burgundy among three men: Hervé Kratiroff, Eric Versini, and Pierre Vincent.
Their friendship and dream of owning a winery in one of the world’s most prestigious regions came true when Domaine des Terres de Velle was put on the market, thanks to its magnificent parcels and exceptional vineyards. The decision to acquire it was quick, given its value and the rarity of such a unique opportunity.
Pierre Vincent, known for his long career as cellar master at Domaine de la Vougeraie and general manager of Domaine Leflaive, took the reins of this estate with the intention of expressing his personal vision in the world of wine. The creation of Domaine Pierre Vincent is the culmination of years of experience and passion for the Burgundian terroir and represents the realization of a professional dream that also reflects his journey. Pierre aims to produce wines that express the terroir and vintage, maintaining the purity of the fruit and minimizing cellar intervention, following a purist approach that prioritizes respect for the raw material.
In the vineyard, Pierre Vincent draws inspiration from biodynamic principles, striving to respect the soil and natural cycles. He pays close attention to seasonal changes and the energies of nature, seeking to convey the energy and vitality of the vines in his wines. His philosophy is based on observation and listening to the vineyard, aiming to maintain a perfect balance between human intervention and the authentic expression of the terroir. In the cellar, he applies minimal intervention winemaking, reducing the use of new barrels and favoring as natural a vinification process as possible.
The result is wines that genuinely and purely tell the story of Burgundy, preserving the essence of the terroir in every bottle.
