Domaine Fourrier, located in Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits, has roots dating back to the 18th century. The Fourrier family has always worked the vineyard, but it was with Jean-Marie Fourrier, who took over in 1994, that the estate experienced a true revival, establishing itself as one of Burgundy’s most respected names internationally.
Today, the Domaine covers about 9 hectares, including some of the most prestigious plots in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. Jean-Marie’s philosophy is based on deep respect for the terroir and the desire to accompany nature without forcing it. Vineyard work follows biodynamic principles: no pesticides or chemical fertilizers, manual pruning, low yields, and the use of natural preparations to enhance soil vitality.
In the cellar, fermentations occur spontaneously thanks to indigenous yeasts, without any filtration or fining, preserving the purity of the fruit and the personality of the vintage. Aging takes place in French oak barriques, with a measured use of new wood to ensure balance and finesse.
The wines of Domaine Fourrier are admired for their elegance, aromatic depth, and pronounced minerality, a direct reflection of the Gevrey-Chambertin terroir. Jean-Marie has built a production philosophy that favors essentiality and the authentic expression of the grapes, creating vibrant and long-lived wines capable of telling each vintage with precision and transparency.
