The Domaine Allante et Boulanger is located in the heart of the Jura, one of the most fascinating wine regions in France, between the villages of Rotalier and Digna.
Founded by Mathieu Allante and Christian Boulanger, two seasoned professionals with extensive experience gained while working at Domaine Labet, this project is the result of their shared passion for viticulture. After years working alongside the Labet family, they decided to launch their own winery, acquiring small parcels of land in the region’s best terroirs, all cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
The Domaine spans vineyards rooted in poor limestone soils, with vines as old as 80 years. This ensures high quality grapes and low yields that enhance the concentration of flavors. The vineyards are located at the southernmost edge of the Jura, in a microclimate that is ideal for grape ripening.
Allante et Boulanger’s winemaking philosophy focuses on a minimalist and natural approach. The grapes are handled with great care, harvested by hand and gently pressed using a basket press that is over a century old. Fermentation is spontaneous and takes place without added yeasts, in wooden barrels, in order to highlight the natural character of the fruit and the terroir.
The Domaine produces a variety of wines, each offering a unique expression of the Jura. Key grape varieties include Petit Béclan, Gamay, Pinot Noir, Trousseau and Poulsard. These native varieties are essential for crafting wines with complex aromatic profiles and elegant structure, fully reflecting the identity and tradition of the region.
